Zain Bhikha - The Singer Song writer who performs all over the world

Zain Bhikha started singing publically in 1994, and he is still one the most popular nasheed artists around, with over a dozen albums to his name and thousands of hits on YouTube every day. Zain Bhikha grew up in Johannesburg in South Africa, yet his audience extends to the UK, the US, Turkey, Malaysia, France, and across the Middle East, to name a few. He has collaborated with an array of nasheed artists, including Dawud Wharnsby, Native Deen, Outlandish, Khalid Belhrouzhi, Khalil Ismail, Sound of Reason, and Yusuf Islam.
Zain Bhikha writes his own material, and his songs focus on his personal life experiences and spirituality. His aim is to deliver the message of Islam and instil a sense of hope. In 1994, he entered a singing competition hosted by a local radio station, and despite recording his song on a karaoke machine, he won. This win motivated him to produce an album, and later on in 1994, his album, A Way of Life, was released and well received by the Muslim community. Zain Bhikha went on to produce more albums, and he was soon noticed by Yusuf Islam – the Muslim artist previously known as Cat Stevens. Yusuf Islam arranged for Zain Bhikha to record at his Mountain of Light Studios in the UK, and he began to be represented by Jamal Records - Mountain of Light’s cultural label. In 2005, he set up his own recording company in South Africa – Zain Bhikha Studios, and the profits from his album sales now go to several charities.
