My Salah Mat selected as an Export Champion for Wales

I am incredibly honored to announce that My Salah Mat and I have been selected as an Export Champion for Wales as part of the UK Government’s Export Champion community! This recognition means so much to us, as it highlights the dedication and hard work we’ve put into expanding internationally, and it allows us to represent Welsh businesses on the global stage.

This is a significant moment, not only for My Salah Mat but also for our entire team. We are proud to stand alongside some of Wales’ most innovative and forward-thinking companies, spanning sectors such as manufacturing, AI, FinTech, and beyond. Being in the same company as these trailblazers is humbling, and I am excited about the opportunity to learn from them while also sharing our own experiences.

As an Export Champion, I will have the chance to share the My Salah Mat journey into international markets. Our story is one of resilience and faith, showing that with perseverance, even a niche product can find a place on the world stage. Through this role, I’ll be offering advice and guidance to other businesses in Wales, encouraging them to explore the many opportunities that come with exporting. Whether you're a startup or an established company, the global market offers immense potential for growth.

The Export Champion community was created in response to businesses calling for more peer-to-peer support in the export journey. It’s one thing to hear about international trade from large corporations, but it’s entirely different when you get advice from a fellow small business that’s been through the same journey. I am excited to be a part of this initiative and to contribute in a way that I hope will make a real difference for others.

International trade has opened doors for My Salah Mat in ways I never imagined. When we first launched, we focused on creating an educational product for Muslim families. Little did we know that there would be interest for our prayer mats across Europe, North America, and beyond. Exporting has allowed us to connect with diverse communities around the world and bring our unique product to Muslim families everywhere. It’s been an eye-opening and rewarding experience.
