Throughout history, Allah has supported His prophets with clear signs — miracles that affirmed their truthfulness and strengthened the hearts of believers. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was no exception. From the splitting of the moon to water flowing from his blessed fingers, these events were witnessed by companions and passed down through authentic narrations as lasting reminders of his prophethood and mercy.

These weren’t illusions. They were real, awe-inspiring moments — and many who witnessed them entered Islam because of what they saw with their own eyes.

But how do we share these powerful stories with our children in a way that nurtures love and reverence for the Prophet ﷺ?

One way is to start with the miracles carefully compiled by the great scholar Imam an-Nawawi (رحمه الله), who dedicated his life to preserving and transmitting the words and actions of our beloved Messenger.

What Were Some of the Prophet’s ﷺ Miracles?

According to Imam an-Nawawi’s collection here are just a few:

The Splitting of the Moon

When the disbelievers asked for a sign, the Prophet ﷺ pointed to the moon — and by Allah’s permission, it split in two before joining again. It was seen by many, including non-Muslims, and became a turning point for several who later accepted Islam.

Water Flowing From His Fingers

During the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah, the companions were short on water. The Prophet ﷺ placed his hand in a small container — and water began flowing from between his fingers, enough for 1,500 people to drink and perform wudu.

Stones Giving Salām

Before revelation began, the Prophet ﷺ said that stones in Makkah would greet him with “As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum” as he walked by.

Food Multiplying Before Their Eyes

Whether it was a single bowl feeding an entire army or dates that never seemed to run out, Allah placed immense barakah in the food the Prophet ﷺ touched or made du'a over.

Healing the Sick and Injured

He wiped the eye of a companion who had been injured in battle — and not only did it heal instantly, it became stronger than the other eye. He prayed for another companion with a broken leg, and the man stood up and walked as if nothing had happened.

These are just a few. His miracles were many — witnessed by hundreds — and always linked to his mission: to call people to Tawheed (the oneness of Allah) and to deliver the message of mercy.

Why These Miracles Matter

Today, we live in a time where even truth is questioned. "Did that really happen?" "Is there any proof?" But for those who believe, the miracles of the Prophet ﷺ are not just historical events — they are signs of his truthfulness, mercy, and connection to Allah.

They taught the companions to rely on Allah in times of fear and hardship. They gave strength to those around him. And they continue to inspire us — not just as stories, but as lessons in faith, humility, and trust in Allah’s power.
