Our children book is now in every Newport Primary School!

Some Amazing News!!!

We have managed to get our book “Hajj with Emperor Mansa Musa” into all of the primary schools in Newport. My hometown!

This is such a proud moment as I grew up in Newport! I travelled the world and even lived in Egypt for 2 years but I always returned home to Newport, Wales.

The amazing author is also from Wales, Dr Wendy A Booth We have worked with Kath Bevan, the Assistant Head of Education and our wonderful local councillors Saeed Adnan and Farzina Hussain to achieve this.

We will have the book in all the schools so they can enjoy reading and finding about the richest man that ever lived! As well as this book, I have utilised my teaching and design skills to create resources and a video that schools can also use.

In Wales, we have enriched our school curriculum by making the teaching of Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic histories and experiences mandatory within educational settings. This is a milestone in the history of Welsh education. This will have a positive impact on the children of Wales and hopefully we can broaden understanding and knowledge and grow stronger as a society!
