A Heartfelt Eid Project with Ilm School Cardiff

This year, we wanted to do something a little different for Eid.
At My Salah Mat, we’re always looking for ways to make Islamic learning more meaningful and rooted in the community. So instead of designing our usual Eid Mubarak cards in-house, we reached out to a school close to our hearts—Ilm School Cardiff—with a special idea:
Let the children design them.
The Year 4 pupils at Ilm School Cardiff took on the Eid Card Design Competition with enthusiasm and creativity. Their task was to create a design that reflected the joy and meaning of Eid, and we were blown away by the talent and thought that went into each submission.
After a tough judging process, one beautiful design was chosen to be printed—congratulations to Malaikah, whose artwork perfectly captured the joy and spirit of Eid!
Winning illustration by Malaikah
In total, 500 Eid cards featuring Malaikah’s winning design were printed and distributed between Ilm School Cardiff, our customers, and content creators across the world.
A special mention goes to our talented runners-up, Ameena and Aayra, whose colourful and creative entries truly impressed us!

A Special Visit
To announce the winner, we visited Ilm School Cardiff with a very special guest—Nūr the Watermelon Plushie!
We gathered with the Year 3 and Year 4 classes to celebrate the winner and runners-up. Malaikah received her very own Interactive Prayer Mat, while Ameena and Aayra each received their own Nūr plushie as a reward for their brilliant designs.
The atmosphere was full of excitement, and the smiles on the children's faces reminded us why we do what we do—making Islamic education fun, memorable, and rooted in joy.
Gifts for the School
While at the school, we also brought along a full display of our products and gifted the staff a collection of My Salah Mat resources to support Islamic learning in their classrooms—including our Interactive Prayer Mats, Wall Art, and more.
And to top it off, the entire school came out to meet Nūr and join in the fun!
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Headteacher Naeela Minhas for her incredible support in helping us coordinate this wonderful project. It’s been a joy to work with the team at Ilm School Cardiff, and we look forward to more meaningful collaborations in the future, Insha’Allah.
